Marilyn brings 40+ years of security and law enforcement experience to our team, 30 of which were in a healthcare security and public safety setting starting her career at Emory University.  Her real-world experience, including her past service to the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) as its President and as a Board Member crafting Security and Safety Best Practices for the healthcare sector, supplement her knowledge of the issues to address and the pitfalls to avoid in creating a secure and safe environment for healthcare patients, staff, visitors, and facilities.  She was named one of the Top 30 voices in healthcare security by Security Management magazine and University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers twice was awarded the coveted IAHSS Lindbergh Award under her tenure.  Marilyn’s expertise in hospital security and safety is now benefiting SRMC’s roster of clients.

It is critical that the hospital security staff, from the top down, develop relationships with clinical staff that will enhance communications and build trust which will lead to early reporting and more effective prevention tactics.
